What's up Pussy Cat 🐱🐾

I recently had a client buy one of my Gift Vouchers from my online shop so that she could gift it to her sister for her birthday. Her sister chose to have a photography session with her beautiful little Cat Mila at her home. After lots of persistence, treats, fun and games we got some lovely shots that really show her character.

If you're lost for what to get someone for their birthday, the gift of photography is a wonderful thing! I love trying to get the character of my subject out in the photo so whether it's your pet cat Mila or your uncle Derek a one of my photography sessions might just be what your looking for!

Newly Weds Wednesday! 💍💍 

Here's a few from both the Wedding day itself and the pre-shoot I did for the wonderful Holly and Caitlin a couple of months ago. I love taking the couple out for a pre-shoot (which is included in all my wedding packages) before the wedding day so that I can get to know the both of you and make sure that I can make you feel comfortable in front of the camera when it gets to the big day!

A local walk somewhere usually works a treat and by the end of it, I promise you'll barely know I'm there!

Time Two Explore (Keswick, Lake District)

Me and Jay and Zep have been spoiled rotten with the weather this week in the beautiful Lake District. We have walked through Valleys, crossed over mountains and ventured over lakes it has been a dream come true!

The Joy of Teaching Photography!

I cannot begin to explain how much I have enjoyed  teaching the art of photography. Passing on my joy to others is so wonderfully rewarding especially when I get to see first hand the joy on my clients faces when they realise how much they didn't know they could do!

I had a 4 hour 1-1 tuition with Jim a couple of weeks ago, all of the images (apart from the ones I took of him) were taken by Jim including a rather nice shot of me (Thanks Jim) Here's what he had to say about his experience on the 1-1 tuition 😊👇🏻

"I came to Taz as my experience of using a DLSR camera was limited. Although I had tried to increase my understanding of photography via a short online course, and by watching a number of YouTube videos, the result was that I felt confused. This was apparent in the photographs I took, which is frustrating and over time does chip away at your confidence.

I found Taz's approach and advice throughout the evening to be both clear and informative, whilst at the same time being delivered in a relaxed and friendly manner. This made asking questions easy, and I greatly appreciated the encouragement he provided at all times.

It was helpful to spend some time at the beginning of the tuition talking through my current level of understanding, and also how I had set up my camera. It was very beneficial to have his input as to how my camera settings could be improved, as these will definitely reference points that I can carry forward. I'll also be using the 'cheat sheet' you gave me as a future reference tool.

I never, thought that I would be taking photographs in such low light conditions, nor using such long shutter speeds. This also served to illustrate some of the untapped capabilitie of my camera, and the scope that a tripod adds to your options. Frankly I was blown away by some of the results

As I was driving home I did have one regret, and that was simply that I had not had the opportunity of having a 1:1 session with you at a earlier date! I honestly found the whole evening and learning experience both a pleasure and very rewarding, and one that I would definitely recommend."

Calm & Graze (Mistley)

Picture the scene, just half an hour after sunrise, walking down green lane, not a person in sight the birds are delicately chirping as they begin to climb out of their nests. I spotted these wonderful white tailed cows grazing in the field next to st Michael's Church. I creeped over to the fence silently trying not to disturb them, i slowly took my camera out of the bag and leaned in to take the shot.......deep breath.....AARGHHHHKZZZZZZ!⚡Electric fence⚡

For the past few weeks now I've set my alarm at 5am to go and watch the sun rise. The moment I wake up, it's horrible, very little enthusiasm I must say but when you get to see that enormous ball of light peak over the horizon it's so unbelievably worth it!

One Way Ticket (Loch Fada, Isle of Skye)

I was looking back at some photos from my adventures in the Isle of Skye yesterday and I came across this image which I had never even knew I had, I remember it vividly, as if the scene wasn't already stunning enough this beautiful vintage car headed down this road on a one way ticket to the Old Man of Storr.

For me there are few photos that really tick all the boxes for my own personal satisfaction and this has to be one of my all time favourite images!

I couldn't resist printing this out, when it came through the printer it gave me goosebumps....it took me right back to that moment. I have gifted this print to my good friend Brian who was with me on this journey as we hiked through Skye, smiles all round, such an amazing feeling! 😊📸

Life is Precious

Everyday we wake up and do the things we feel we must do to “get by” whether working 9-5 to feed your family or simply mowing the lawn on a Sunday morning, most of us go about our days and weeks stuck inside our little routines.

Life as wonderful as it is can also be cruel, loosing people you love can sometimes freeze everything and make you feel that all your hard work is going nowhere. 

What ever you believe life is like a journey, the only difference with life is that unfortunately none of us know when it will end. Sometimes I believe it is good to remind yourself this, do the things you want to do, say the things you want to say, be the person that you ultimately want to be!

You never know when your last day on this wonderful world will come so if things aren’t going your way, now’s the time to make a change, it’s never too late, your never too old, Life is so damn precious! ❤️

Constable Park 

I recently had the pleasure of staying at and photographing some of the wonderful scenes that Constable Park has to offer and boy it certainly did not disappoint! 

Celebrating nearly 2 years now since their opening back in 2021 the owners Sarah and Ian have done such an incredible job keeping the natural beauty of stour and surrounding landscapes whilst providing a beautiful location for people to come and stay amongst it all.

It's all off grid so if you want a place to escape from all the busy hustle and bustle of everyday life for a night or two I couldn't recommend it highly enough! Hire or take your own paddle board or kayak to enjoy the river Stours tranquill wonders really is an experience not to be missed.

I was lucky enough to have a near full moon too on the 2 nights we stayed and it was so utterly beautiful, in the morning the most rolls in like a blanket over the fields Infront of you as every bird known to man decides to wake up!

If you don't fancy staying then get into the cafe for some proper good coffee and a blinding full english! I'm sure if Constable was still alive today he would have been proud to have his name on it, the place is stunning!

All Those Memories (Manningtree)

I captured this yesterday evening whilst taking a stroll along the embankment in Brantham, whenever I look back at my home town like this It always opens up the happy part in my mind, it takes me back to all those memories I've made in this wonderful place! 

I've lived here all my life and boy am I lucky! From making sandcastles on the beach and walks along the walls to pub crawls, jumping in the river and being hissed at by swans, I have sooo many memories!

It seems like only yesterday that I remember Ellie putting on her princess dress from the Disney film Tangled when she was just 5 years old, now look at her! MotoGP  Assen 2023

Here's a few images from last weekend's MotoGP at the Assen TT Circuit in Holland. For those of you that don't follow the GP these riders are the most talented in the world racing around reaching speeds of up to 230mph on bikes worth around 2.4 million each! 

The winner of this year's Assen circuit was Italian World Champion Pecco Bagnai on the Red Ducati no.1. Also a fantastic first time grand Prix win for British rider Jake Dixon on the Moto2 class with the GasGas Aspar Team no. 96.

Pictured on The Orange Red and White Honda Repsol is  8 time world champion Marc Marquez who is arguably one of the greatest riders of all time, unfortunately Marc didn't make race day due to a rib fracture during warm up.
