Manningtree Xmas Market

What can I say Manningtree, this is the first time I reckon I've been to the Manningtree Xmas market for years,I remember going all the time when I was kid, such good memories and this year really didn't disappoint! I only had a hour free to pop and have a look and wow, it looked stunning! I was even greeted with thick icey fog to add to the atmosphere! 

Seriously to every person involved I applaud you, the spirit on that high street last Night was rich, vibrant and buzzing!! ☺️❄️🌲📸🎅

Isn't it all just Incredible??? 🤯🍂🌳🐞

I know I've been babbling on about Autumn quite a lot recently but every year it amazes me, literally billions and billions of leaves fall off our trees each year, they hit the ground and slowly break down into the soil feeding it with all its earthy goodness!

This helps not just the trees to keep growing but it also creates a habitat for trillions of insects from ladybirds and Caterpillars to woodlice and spiders. We are so delicately balanced and we depend on this cycle to happen year after year because without it we simply wouldn't be here! 

Whilst walking through Furze Hills a couple of days ago my eyes kept getting sucked into all the little beautiful signs of this wonderful process happening right in front of me. If you look closely it really is baffling just how much is going on! 🤯📸

The Night Shift (Mistley Quay)

Was strolling past the malting yesterday evening smelling that sweet malty air and saw good old Mistley Quay lit up like a Christmas tree, I had to go take a look.

Two big old boats docked up and both of the cranes in action, I love the fact that Mistley still has a working Quay, it has soo much character, there's something quite magical about it. One thing in particular that caught my eye is just how many birds were also moored up on the "sandy little island" I've seen tens of thousands of them down there before and it looks like the flock is slowly building its numbers. 🚢⚓

Little Details with a Big Impact!

When I'm photographing an event or trying to document a day of any kind one of the things I love to do is hone in on those little details, those little things that will take you back and remind you of that very moment. I find sometimes that it doesn't have to be the big dramatic scenes that has the biggest impact, all of the photos below I took in a very small space, a tiny little bothy named Rubha Hunish situated on the most northerly point of the Isle of Skye.

This was the end of our journey, we were walking for days battling through horrendous weather and marshlands, the photo of the boots reminds me of just how bad our feet smelled when we took them off 😂

The hip flask (filled with Scotch) helped us through the cold a perfect companion for the Scottish Highlands. The old twist dial telephone was a feature on the wall in the cabin. We stayed up and played cards around a very limited supply of candles and the view from the window speaks for itself, it was worth every step that we took!

Zep 🐾

Soppy post alert! If you own a pet then you'll understand that the love and bond you have for them is truly astonishing! It's so bizarre because I can't sit and have a conversation in English with Zep but he understands pretty much everything about me before I've even opened my mouth. Ive grown up my whole life with dogs and I've loved them all but Zep was the first dog I've ever owned myself and I can't imagine what life was like without him (apart from the house being tidier, the garden having less holes in it and having a much bigger sock collection) but I didn't think it was possible to love an animal so much and I wouldn't change it for the world. Love your pets because they love you and they are truly awesome! 🐾❤️

The Changing of Faces (swipe 👉🏻)

Me and my brothers have a very special bond, we meet up regularly for "Bros Night" a night where we all meet up round one of our homes for a few drinks and a good old natter letting go of any worries or concerns any of us have (always feels good to get things off your chest).

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of hosting bros night and at the end  I invited them all into my studio, this was after the whiskey was passed around but we ended up with some beautifully weird head shots "The Changing of Faces"

Had the pleasure of doing a shoot for talented local dancer Lily-may who currently trains at Boogie Shoes Dance Academy, she wanted to get together a portfolio of both studio and outdoor shots or her in action. Lily-may is currently auditioning to get into the famous Urdang London of performing theatre Arts. Massive fingers crossed for her, she certainly has some insanely talented moves!

The Art of the Streets (London)

Street photography is very subjective and rather controversial, I absolutely love Street photography, I haven't done it in ages. When I'm walking the streets with my camera in my hand my eyes are all over the place, my aim is to find interesting people and perspectives. 

People are beautiful, they come in all different shapes ages and sizes and I loves capturing little moments that people are having going about their daily lives, it's natural it's not forced and I guess that's why I love it! Lots more life on the streets incoming!

Hills are a gorgeous pain! Your calfs hate hills, your heart hates hills and your mind hates hills....but only whilst your walking up them.
