This is the Biggest Step In My Life!
Here's My Story:-
Hi everyone, my name is Taz Brotherton you may know me as TazzyBro the Photographer but that isn’t quite the full story….
I’ve lived and grown up in the wonderful town of Manningtree my whole life. I had an amazing childhood and I left Manningtree High school way back in 2004 with some very below average GCSE’s but I did get an A in drama. Like most people at the age of 16 I had no idea what I wanted to choose as a career.
Luckily for me I didn’t have to try hard to get a job, both my two brothers Rich, Ben and my Mum worked at a pump manufacturing place in Copford Colchester called AquaTech (part of the AGM group) I was pretty much given a job there the week after I left school as an apprentice engineer in the workshop.
Little did I know, AGM would be my career for the next 20 years. I started in the workshop learning how to use basic hand tools to soldering, gas welding etc, I done 3 years City & Guilds in engineering at the Colchester institute. I went on to become the workshop supervisor managing staff, goods in and out, ordering materials and scheduling orders.
In 2017 I decided to go out on the road as an engineer covering the south east of England mostly working in and around London. I’ve done maintenance and repairs on such buildings as the Shard and the Gherkin to some of the uk’s notorious prisons and even the Bank of England. Throughout my career I simply can’t put into words how much I’ve learnt at AGM over the years.
Meanwhile in my spare time I have always loved and adored the art of photography! I grew up with my Mum who was bonkers over it. I spent hours with her in the dark room when I was a kid developing photos, I loved the magic of seeing the image appear on paper before your eyes. This obsession of my Mums came from my Grandad Michael Cornell who was a professional photographer himself!
Over years and years of experimenting with photography I seriously got into it in 2017 where I started sharing my images online on Facebook & instagram, I wanted to see what people thought of the images I created. After about a year of this and some really positive feedback I started TazzyBro Photography in 2018 for a bit of fun, I guess to give my images some identity.
Fast forward 5 years and WOW, just WOW, I can’t believe I’ve actually done this but on Wednesday 20th December 2023 (just 12 days ago) after 20 years working for AGM I handed in my resignation to follow my dreams to become a full time professional photographer!
This has been a journey for me like no other, I genuinely never thought that i could ever make a penny taking photos, it was never my plan, I just love every part of the process and I’m always striving to get better at the craft. I never thought in my wildest dreams people would want to buy my photos as prints, ask me to photograph their wedding day and end up taking photos for one of the uk’s largest transport companies.
I love putting myself out of my comfort zone and trying new things. I wouldn’t have believed that I would have my own studio, be designing and selling calendars every year, booking people in for 1-1 photography tuitions and group courses, giving public talks to clubs, doing exhibitions and being featured in magazines papers and even the BBC.
2024 Hello!!!! Am I still dreaming?? All I can say is THANK YOU, to each and everyone of you for your loyal support, to all of you for booking me to capture memories and moments over the years I simply cannot thank you enough.
This platform has made it all possible for me to follow my dream and without you lot I’d be jumping in the van and driving into London tomorrow! I know it sounds a little cliche but It just goes to show that if you love something enough, if you put the work in you WILL win eventually!
An enormous thank you to my rock, my wife Jay for sticking by me and for believing in me every step of the way, I bloody love you!
Now it’s all official I need you lot more than ever so please if you need a photographer this year I’d love to help! I can’t tell you how much all of the likes and shares does for me as a Photographer, it really helps my platform grow.
Now Ive got the time to invest in my photography properly I simply cannot wait to see where this road will take me 20 years from now!

Manningtree or Anywhere Exhibition
Manningtree or Anywhere???
I am absolutely thrilled to announce I have my brand new Exhibition "Manningtree or Anywhere" coming up one month from today, November 1st - 11th at NaviStitch on Manningtree High Street.
This has by far been my most creative year yet, I've had the privilege of working on so many wonderful projects! Last year I held my first ever exhibition and I absolutely loved it! So many of you showed your support by popping in and it really was a dream come true!
This is my 2nd exhibition and will be showcasing my work not only on Manningtree and the surrounding area but anywhere and everything between! There will be a large line up of new prints available as well as my brand new cards sets alongside a whole host of framed fine art prints and canvases.
Here you will also be able to buy my brand new Manningtree & Surrounding Area 2024 calendar signed by me, if you've pre-ordered one from my website and chosen to "collect" this is where you can come and grab yours ☺️
If you have seen my photography before I guess most of you have seen it on your computer or phone screens, if you get a chance I would love you to come and see my work printed and on the wall! The detail on these prints is something you just can't see on a digital screen.

Now Taking Photography 1-1 & Group Tuitions!
Would you like to meet up to better your photography skills on a 1-1 or group tuition? I can walk you through all the aspects of photography from beginner basics and camera settings all the way to composition and advanced editing techniques. We will meet initially for a consultation followed by several hours walking through the serene scenes of Manningtree & the surrounding area!
For the last couple of years I've been wanting to teach photography to others in the hope that it encourages both new and old photographers to spark their passion for the craft. I had been planning to offer 1-1 and group based photography tuitions consisting of a pre consultation followed by several hours of in the field training in Manningtree and the surrounding area all the way into the editing process to develop the images.
At the beginning of the year I was contacted by a client that wanted to buy his wife a photography tuition package based on how to get sharper photos at night for her birthday, he asked whether this was something I'd be interested in. I didn't hesitate to answer "Absolutely!" as this has now kick-started my plan for me!
Just over a week ago I met with my client's wife Jenny we had an hour's consultation before heading out for a 3 hour session at blue hour just after sunset. Everything during the tuition was shot by Jenny on her camera, we started at Manningtree beach going over camera settings and composition and managed to capture some stunning images of the estuary. We ended up at the Mistley two towers and played around with traffic as it whizzed by whilst capturing the stars in all their beauty!
Seeing Jenny's face light up as she got these images was so unbelievably humbling and something that brought such joy to me personally, I could see the penny drop and by the end of the evening she was so much more confident with her camera, a huge well done to her for these stunning images! The whole experience was so delightful I simply could not let this be a one off experience!
As of today I'm so happy to announce you can now book me for a 1-1 photography tuition. This is aimed at complete beginners to advanced photographers. The 6 hour tuition also includes editing techniques along with a fine art A3 print of your choice from the tuition.
I will also be taking bookings for my first group tuition for 4 people on Saturday 8th July, the plan is to meet for 5pm at the wonderful (just opened) creative space

Thank you so much to everyone that has bought one this year, truely baffled by the numbers this year, Sold out in a record time too, there's still very limed availablility in some local stores but unfortunatly all my stock is out! i will be ordering higher numbers next year!
